Abalone with Peppers


  • 1Kg fresh abalone or 3 tins of canned (425g) abalone, cut into small thin slices
  • 2 red bell peppers and 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 4 doves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 250g mushrooms, chopped
  • Salt and pepper (quantity as needed)
  • 250ml Cream


Serves 2 -4 

  1. Chop up all the peppers, onions and garlic
  2. Add to pot with melted butter
  3. Fry the ingredients until soft and brown
  4. Add the chopped mushrooms, salt and pepper and stir with the other ingredients
  5. add the sliced abalone
  6. stir abalone and ingredients for one minute
  7. add cream then lower the heat
  8. simmer for 5 minutes

Serve with basmati rice
